Yonex Rexis Comfort – Premium Multi for Comfort & Control

Review my string guide here.

Yonex Rexis Comfort

Yonex Rexis Comfort is designed as a premium multifilament built for players who value feel, easy power and maximum arm protection. Sitting at the top end of Yonex’s multi lineup, Rexis Comfort uses high-elasticity filaments and FRF (Fusion of Resin Filaments) technology to deliver a plush, connected sensation on contact.

After testing it across several racquets—including the Yonex Ezone 100, Wilson Clash 100 and Head Boom MP—Rexis Comfort stands out as a genuinely arm-friendly option that still offers respectable control and stability. While it won’t replace shaped polys for spin or top-end hitters, it’s one of the best feel-oriented multis on the market.

Quick verdict

Yonex Rexis Comfort is a plush, powerful and highly arm-friendly multifilament string that excels in feel and touch shots. It provides smooth power, consistent response, and far better stability than most multis. Spin is moderate, but if comfort, feel and easy depth are your priorities, it’s a top-tier choice.

👉 Ideal for players with arm sensitivity, part-time players, or those switching from poly who want a softer, more forgiving stringbed.

What the numbers say

Below are the reference measurements for Yonex Rexis Comfort:

Attribute Score (%) Summary
Power 75% Good free depth for a comfort string without feeling overly “hot”.
Resilience Peak 75% Lively snap off the stringbed, helping the ball jump nicely off the racquet.
Elasticity 70% Decent stretch and pocketing, giving a cushioned feel on impact.
Spin 60% Spin is serviceable for a multi but not close to shaped poly levels.
Control 70% Solid directional control as long as you use smooth, full swings.
Tension Holding 100% Excellent tension stability for a multifilament; playability drops off slowly.
Stability 85% Stringbed stays consistent and predictable over multiple sessions.
Comfort 60% Comfortable compared with most polys, though not the plushest multi on the market.

👉 In short: an unusually stable, controlled multifilament that still gives you the trademark plush multi feel.

How it plays (feel, spin, power, control)

On court, Rexis Comfort feels plush, smooth and connected. The string pockets the ball beautifully, giving you feedback without harshness. Touch shots, lobs and drop shots are especially easy to execute.

Power is medium-high: enough to help you through defensive positions without sending the ball flying. Players used to low-powered polys will feel an immediate increase in depth and height over the net.

Spin is ok but not exceptional. As with most multis, you’ll need more technique to generate heavy topspin.

Control is surprisingly solid thanks to the excellent stability. The ball doesn’t trampoline as much as many budget multis, contributing to a more predictable launch angle.

Durability & tension maintenance

Yonex Rexis Comfort
Tour Bite’s tension stability is one of its biggest strengths.

Rexis Comfort performs very well for a multifilament in terms of consistency and life span.

  • Tension holding: 100% – superb for a multi
  • Resists fraying far longer than typical soft multis
  • Plays consistently for 8–12 hours before noticeable drop-off

It won’t match poly durability, and heavy topspin hitters will notch it quickly, but for doubles players, juniors, or all-court recreational players, durability is more than adequate.

Rexis Comfort performs very well for a multifilament in terms of consistency and life span. See my guide here on choosing the right tennis string tension.

👉 Overall: one of the longest-lasting and most stable multifilaments I have tested.

Who it suits

Best For:

  • Players with arm issues (tennis elbow, wrist pain, shoulder discomfort)
  • Beginners–intermediates wanting easy power & comfort
  • Players using lightweight racquets needing more stability
  • Doubles players who rely on touch and feel
  • Poly users looking for a softer string that still feels controlled

Not For:

  • Heavy-hitting baseliners who rely on shaped poly spin
  • Players who hit with extreme topspin
  • Anyone wanting a crisp, firm response
  • Frequent string breakers

Best suited racquets

Yonex Rexis Comfort works best in powerful tweeners, arm-friendly frames, and any racquet used by players needing comfort first.

Racquet Why it Works Recommended Tension
Yonex Ezone 100 / Ezone 98 Adds comfort & feel to a powerful frame while keeping the response stable. 24–26 kg (53–57 lbs)
Wilson Clash 100 Perfect match for the Clash’s flexible feel; boosts stability and control. 23–25 kg (51–55 lbs)
Head Boom MP Improves touch & depth on an already powerful racquet. 24–26 kg (53–57 lbs)
Babolat Pure Drive Softens the PD’s stiff feel while improving pocketing and control. 25–26 kg (55–57 lbs)

Comparable strings

If you like Yonex Rexis Comfort, you might also consider:

  • Babolat Xcel – softer, more plush, but less stable
  • Wilson NXT – excellent comfort, slightly less durable
  • Tecnifibre NRG2 – powerful and premium-feeling, expensive
  • Head Velocity MLT – budget-friendly, softer, less control

👉 Rexis Comfort sits in a sweet spot: more stable and controlled than most multis, still soft enough for sensitive arms.

Practible recommendations

Tension: 24–26 kg for most players; drop to 23 kg if you want extra comfort

Gauge: Choose 1.30 for durability; 1.25 for more feel and power

Great as a full bed – hybrid not necessary

Restring every 12–16 hours of play for best performance

Perfect upgrade for players using cheap synthetic gut or stiff poly
